Role Responsibilities
We are seeking a software engineer to join our acclaimed team, known for effectively merging data science methods with a deep understanding of payment data to assist Financial Institutions in combating money laundering and fraud.
Our customized services enable clients to comprehend the criminal behavior behind financial crimes, empowering them to respond effectively.
Responsibilities include creating and maintaining microservices primarily in Golang, with increasing responsibility.
This involves assisting in the design and development process to address bugs, enhance performance, and introduce new features. Additionally, containerizing services and preparing them for deployment on a k8s environment using helm charts is required.
It is important to develop a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems and apply this knowledge in coding.
Writing tests with extensive coverage, including unit, contract, e2e, and integration tests, is essential.
Version controlling code with git and utilizing ci/cd pipelines for building, testing, and deploying is also expected.
Building and testing remotely on personal machines and deploying to lower-level environments is part of the role.
Collaborating in code reviews with team members, participating in demos, and engaging in acceptance discussions with analysts, developers, and product owners are important aspects of the position.
Additionally, assisting in task planning and review within a sprint-based workflow and taking ownership of delivery tasks (design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation) to meet business requirements is required.
This role is a hybrid position, and adherence to Mastercard’s office attendance policy is expected.
Qualifications & Experience
You have a strong attention to detail and enjoy writing and reviewing code to a high standard, backed by thorough testing.
You have proven skills in Python/Golang and SQL, and are open to learning new programming languages and frameworks as needed.
You are interested in modern approaches to service design, such as containerization and container orchestration, streaming data platforms, APIs, and in-memory/NoSQL databases.
You are familiar with working in a devops-based software development workflow, including building, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.
You are adaptable and willing to contribute to the success of the development process.
You have excellent communication skills and can effectively engage with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts, data scientists, software engineers, and enterprise devops and security professionals.
You are eager to follow best practices for code review, version control, and change control, while also considering the unique challenges of scaling up software engineering.
You either have experience or are enthusiastic about working with machine learning technologies in a production environment.
